Charlotte smiled slightly. “Thanks.. It means a lot..” She smiled slightly. She looked at him. “Thanks for everything…” She smiled as he mentioned the duet. “Oh, yeah. Definitely. What song could we do?” She asked, smiling slightly. She nervously played with the bottom of her dress, biting her lip. She felt the butterflies in her stomach again.
"Love interruped by Jack White? Do you know that one?" He asked, hoping she did. It was a favorite of his and it was in his head at that moment, for some bizarre reason. "Or there’s always your choice." He flashed a grin at her once again and cleared his throat. It was as if he could not stop grinning around Charlotte. Well, that’s what happens when you’re having a good time, right? Nothing more. Shit. Was he falling for her? Shit. Shit shit shit shit. Shit. Okay, he really did need to get a better vocabulary
My universe will never be the same. I’m glad you came.
Charlotte looked at him and bit her lip, she sniffed, taking his hand. “Thanks.. I’m really not..” She said, feeling her cheeks redden. She looked at him. “Really? You’ll let me stay with you? That’s the nicest thing anyone has never done for me..” She said, smiling slightly. She looked at him. “What about my clothes?” She asked, biting her lip. She looked at him and smiled slightly. She looked at her feet and sighed. “Thanks, for this. You’re one of the nicest people I have ever met, it really means a lot.” She smiled slightly.
Aaron nodded and grinned slightly. “What are friends for, right?” He smiled softly. “I can always go grab your things for you and you can wear some of my sisters clothes for now. I’m sure she won’t mind.” He gulped and took a deep breath. At least she wasn’t going back to him. He wasn’t sure if he could bear the guilt if she did decide to go back. “It’s honestly no problem. It’d be amazing to have someone who’s into the same things as me under the same roof.” He grinned and raised an eyebrow. “You still wanna do that duet?” He asked, sniffing. He didn’t really mind what they did now. As long as she was safe and he knew that, then it didn’t bother him.

Charlotte looked at him and bit her lip. “I.. Okay.. I’ll stay.. Sorry.. I get really touchy about this…” She mumbled, looking at her feet. She looked at him and forced a small smile. “That’s why I sing and paint. I do it to block him out…” She mumbled, looking at her feet. “He said that if I tell anyone he’ll kill me…” She mumbled, looking at him, with a look of fear in her eyes. “Please don’t make me go back to him…” She looked at her feet. “I can’t go back…” She said, swallowing the lump in her throat. She felt tears come into her eyes again, she sniffed, wiping her eyes. She never showed her emotions like this, but around Aaron, she felt like she could, she felt like he wouldn’t judge her for being who she is. She sighed, running a hand through her hair. “Sorry, I’m a mess…” She sighed, keeping her eyes fixed on her feet.
Aaron gulped back the lump in his throat as the blond said she couldn’t go back. He wasn’t going to let her go back anyway. Not if that happened to her. He never normally felt this protective over anyone except Grace really. It was weird. Sort of. Taking a step forward, Aaron reached out a hand for her to take. “It’s okay. You don’t have to go back to him. You can stay with me. I’ll keep you safe. He’ll never hurt you again. I promise.” He said softly, forcing a small, sad smile. “You’re not a mess, you’re beautiful even when you cry.” He grinned and took a deep breath. “Stay here? With me? Don’t go back to him. You don’t deserve it.” He cleared his throat. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around the girl and hold her until she felt somewhat safe.
Charlotte looked at him. “Well you do a bloody good job of cleaning.” She smiled slightly, looking down. “Yeah, I love art. I do paint.. It’s just that whenever I try to, and I leave the room, it gets destroyed.” She shrugged, biting down on her lip. She felt tears come into her eyes as he complimented her and asked the question. She stared at her feet. “It was my dad… It started when I was around 10.” She paused, swallowing the lump in her throat. “He started off hitting my mum when I was 2 or 3, he then moved onto my brother, and now, I’m his last victim. I never do anything to aggravate him. He just comes into my room… And shouts at me, then hits me…” She squeezed her eyes shut, wincing in pain as the slightly bruised one started to sting. She felt a tear roll down her cheek. “I’m sorry… Can you not tell anyone… I shouldn’t have told you.. I don’t want you worrying.. Not that you would..” She shrugged, wiping her eyes. She stared at her feet, then looked up at him. “Sorry… I don’t know why I told you… I’ve only just met you… I hardly know you…. You could be lying and you could be going to tell everyone…” She cut off. “I’ve got to go.” She said, standing up and heading for the front door.
Aaron bit his lip as a wave of anger hit him. It wasn’t at Charlotte, but at her dad. How could he do that to his own daughter? To his own family? Holding back his sudden anger, he looked at Charlotte as she got up and headed for the front door, he walked after her. “I do care. I swear on my life that I won’t tell anyone.” He took a deep breath. “Just stay for a little bit, yeah? Don’t rush back to him.. just.. we can still do that duet if you want.” He shrugged, offering her a small smile. “I know we’ve just met, but I care about you. A lot. I..” He broke off and gulped. “Please? I swear on my life that I won’t tell anyone and I honestly don’t want to die.” He shrugged. He ran a hand through his hair and ruffled it slightly. “I won’t even bring it up again. I promise. Just, don’t go back yet. Enjoy just a little bit more of your freedom.
